פדיון שבויים

In Jewish law, redeeming captives comes before almost any other charity.

We do that work across faiths — and we prove it is done right. The gravity of pidyon shvuyim is the reason we exist; transparency is how we earn the right to ask.

  • Rescue

Free persecuted religious minorities from slavery and danger, and help them build a future beyond it.

  • Preserve

Sustain Jewish life and heritage in Africa — employment, kosher food, education, holidays, and Judaica.

  • Verify

Validate tzedakah for the community so charitable contributions make a real, documented impact.

Where your money goes

The efficiency is in the by-laws, not the marketing

These are not aspirations — they are rules our board is bound by, and they are public.

$0 key-person salaries No salaries to key persons — none now or in the near future.
None current liabilities No liabilities currently; by-laws cap liabilities at ≤40% of assets.
Independent financial review Finances reviewed by a respected community Orthodox Rabbi; board majority-independent.
By-law minimum: ≥85% of expenses go to programs.

Governance, in short

  • By-laws require an odd number of board members, 5–7 total voting members.
  • A majority of the board must be independent (not salaried); currently all members are independent.
  • Finances are independently reviewed — recently by a respected community Orthodox Rabbi.

Board and staff are listed as of 2023. We keep this label honest rather than imply a roster we have not re-confirmed.
