We keep our books open

Everything a careful donor or due-diligence advisor would ask for: governance rules, finances, sustainability, endorsements, and an honest account of what we do and do not yet measure.

Governance

How the board is bound

Board composition

By-laws require an odd number of board members, 5–7 total voting members. A majority must be independent (not salaried); currently all members are independent.

Independent financial review

Our scale does not warrant a formal audit, but per our by-laws an independent, respected individual evaluates all finances — recently a respected community Orthodox Rabbi.

Conflict-of-interest policy

All board members must sign and declare conflicts. Accepting a conflict requires a unanimous vote of the non-conflicted board.

Board minutes

The board meets at least yearly. Minutes are recorded and published publicly.

Document retention & whistleblower policies

Published document retention & destruction and whistleblower policies are on file.

  • Total revenue and expenses are kept public per by-laws.
Sustainability · as of 2023

How the work is funded

Historically funded by long-term individual contributors plus cash and in-kind services from staff and board, and by international volunteers and local communities operating on a bare-minimum budget.

Forward plans (as of 2023)

  • Grow the base of individual supporters.
  • Apply for foundation funding and grants.
  • Launch a synagogue and church outreach campaign.
  • Accept more donated goods and services.
  • (Very limited, researching) sell products or services.

These plans describe intentions stated in 2023; we do not present them as completed activity.

Impact

What we will not invent

On impact, outcomes, and challenges, the umbrella organization routes to its programs. We do not publish impact figures we cannot document. For program-level outcomes, please view the individual programs.

“It’s important to us to have regular reviews and evaluations on our charity’s impact and results, to ensure that we are meeting our mission and achieving the desired outcomes.”

We publish impact figures only when we can document them. For program-level outcomes, view the individual programs above.
